I hear they’re debuting a delicious beer tonight at Flanagan’s (934 Baxter Ave., 585-3700). It’s called Hobgoblin, and it’s a brown ale with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character. I’ve met many fruity characters in my day, but this one sounds particularly yummy. As usual, the beer is tapped at 7 p.m. sharp — and you get to keep the glass it’s served in. I’ll take two, thanks.

In May 2008, I toured the Wychwood Brewery in Oxfordshire England. Sampling many of their products such as Hobgoblin, Barkspear, Green Goblin and Dog’s Bollocks. All are wonderful microbrew beers that I would like to recommend to all.
