Sundays were meant for: pumpkin pancakes, bacon, not leaving the couch, football, pizza and napping.

Crashed a party yesterday at the infamous Pendennis Club, the birthplace of the Old Fashioned. I was so in awe of the place, I had to swipe a fancy napkin, matchbook and mint.

Some guy wrote in to say how inappropriate this blog is. He wants to stress that alcoholism is a real disease, and drinking too much can be very, very bad for you and the people around you. I agree. That’s why moderation is the key, and those who can’t handle it, probably should stay away from it. And those who are trying to stay away from it probably shouldn’t have “The Bar Belle” blog bookmarked as their homepage.
I love Mexican food. I know there are Mexican buffets out there … but I can’t go to one. When unlimited beans and cheese dip are spread out before me, I can’t stop. I don’t know when to say when. So I choose to stay away. That doesn’t mean I want the place to close down or stop serving all-you-can-eat deliciousness. It’s just not for me. And if you want to write a blog called “The Buffet Belle,” then by all means, go for it.
Drink responsibly, kiddos. And if you don’t, call a taxi or City Scoot or walk your ass home.

Who dat dawg?
While the city was hunting down the “rabid beasts” some call pit bulls, we had our very own dangerous dawg working behind the scenes - Metro Animal Services director Gilles Meloche. LEO reported on Meloche’s mishaps in 2006, but it took the city and the mayor this long to recognize the danger. Here’s the story.
(Oh, and it’s Julia Roberts’ birthday.)
Cheers!

Champagne is the devil, but yet I’m drawn to it like a moth to a flaming sweater.
